Doctor says its healing nicely and the surgery is a success , my eye is STRAIGHT now. lets hope it stays that way!
So, here are the details.
Pre -operation
I was informed by the doctor , the surgery will costs around rm 2000+ if you are paying with cash,
and if you are paying it through insurance, it will costs around rm 3000+. Well, this is because, the hospital knows the insurance will cover for it , so they charge anyhow they want! omg! although i feel bad for the insurance , but oh well. this is how the word works! Giant company getting bigger!
So anyways, on the surgery day itself, the hospital informed me, the insurance company haven't approve to cover for my surgery yet, so i have to put a deposit of RM 2000. and they say i can claim back the money , ONCE/IF the insurance confirm with the hospital they will cover the surgery.
Ok, if this ever happens to any readers out there, i strongly advice you all to NOT do the surgery, until the insurance approve the expenses. Because the insurance might not approve and you might end up having to pay for the surgery yourself. Well for people who don't have choice , then have to do surgery asap the different story la.
So i went ahead and pay rm 2000 for deposit, and did the surgery.
One week later + Raya holidays
Still resting and healing the eyes, when the hospital called me, informing me that they still haven't received any confirmation from the insurance company that they will pay for my surgery, hospital asked me to go settle the remaining bills which was, RM 4586.60. OMG! i almost heart attack. almost TWICE the amount i was informed.
So i called the insurance people myself , asking this and that. email here and there, did the same with the hospital, send email to the head office in KL and etc.
I asked how come my surgery price suddenly different and etc. after sending my first and second email ,BUT NO ONE FROM THE HOSPITAL REPLY MY EMAILS.
So on my third email, my tone was a bit different,
I just had a surgery at ******* miri, at first i was informed the procedure was around rm 2000-3000. After the surgery, i was told by the hospital , the total bills is around rm 4600.00.
This is ridiculous, almost double the amount i was originally informed. i have check with the hospital, they say because the surgery was performed on a saturday, so the medical staffs have to come back and thus the "other expenses" .
Nevertheless, i should have been informed, this is clearly FRAUD!
i will take legal action if necessary, but no one seems to be replying my form i send here/
after 1-2 hours later, i suddenly got a fast reply,
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your feedback. Kindly be informed that all enquiries/feedback will be answered within 3 working days. We are operating during office hour except for clinical staffs.
During the pre-operative stage, the hospital can only give rough estimation on the surgery based on the doctor charges and room charges. There will be other charges that would incur throughout the surgery and your stay at the hospital which cannot be calculated in advance but will be recorded accordingly throughout your stay. Some of the additional charges incur are from medical consumable items; cotton gauze, gloves, dressing film, tapes, pad, etc. Other charges will incur on drugs usage and sterilization services or from other department. You can ask for the itemised bill from the cashier since the hospital will only charge on the items that you used. All items have been packed and bar coded accordingly.
The hospital is licensed under the Malaysia Ministry of Health. Hence, it operates in accordance with the medical act and regulations set by the authority. As such, we do not wish to violate the regulations and create adversity to the patients.
We would like to suggest you to discuss your bill with the hospital administration for clarification. Kindly contact the Finance Manager directly for further discussion on your bill.

You see! sometimes you really need to give threats! Working in the service industry myself, although i hate to admit it, but sometimes it really does help. but don't anyhow do it la! do it when neccessary! don't cincai cincai say I WAN TO TALK TO UR MANAGER and things like this! people will hate and disrespect you! i really hate that! but then do it when you need to!
but i was really satisfied with this reply la, maybe the format is already fixed one, and they send this out everyday or what. but really, they say dao like this, susah wanna talk back already! lose!#
Suddenly i keep receiving emails and calls from both the insurance and the hospital, and suddenly people so efficient.First i was called up, and say insurance will pay for rm 2500. and i don't need to bring money to the hospital and pay the remaining balance FIRST.
Few hours later, called up and people told me that the insurance company will pay FULL AMOUNT. and hospital say they will refund me my deposit on the next day itself, walauwei, normally if things concerning money,even for small amount, it will take them weeks or months just to "PROCESS" .Rm 2000, say big not very big , but very big for people like me , but then they process damn fast!!
So when i went to the hospital yesterday, not sure la, maybe im overthinking it but somehow everyone "Respect and fear" me! Like when i was working at the hotel, we get this morning briefing about those "CB & ANNOYING & FUSSY " humans. somehow i feel like they have the same thing/briefing about ME . oh well, im not fussy ,ok!? im just fighting for what is right, and my rights as as a patient!
So i got my rm 2000 cheque, and because i DON'T have to pay for surgery, i don't really wanna make a scene about the total bills already, i asked about why so expensive and etc, but they can say anything they want lo, if really want fight, need bring LAWYER already, which i don't have.
All in all, total bills are RM 4818.30! you see! different again from few days ago, which was Rm 4586.60. They really charge anyhow they want lo, coz insurance is covering it for it.
First say rm 2000, then because of "other expenses" they double the amount. Really is FRAUD la!!
So people be careful!

As a patient you can expect to:
- Be informed of your medical treatment and care
- Be treated with courtesy and respect
- Be provided with adequate information and informed consent
- Be provided with a channel to address your feedback
- Be informed of the estimated charges
- See an itemized bill upon request
- Know the identity and professional status of your care provider
- Be ensured the privacy and confidentiality of your medical record
- Receive care in an environment conducive to health
MANA ADA?! ask for bills, they say DON'T KNOW OH, WE DON'T KNOW THE PRICE, AGAK AGAK IS LIKE SO AND SO.
You see the email the rep send me also say like this.
Moral of story:
1. BUY INSURANCE!
NOBODY will care bout you! If you have very rich parents, then no problem, you can use cash to pay for anything, but do you really want your parents to take care of you till now!? how old already?!
Because if you DON'T have insurance/medical card , private hospital WILL REJECT you, they will ask you to government hospital TRUE STORY! it happened EVERY SINGLE DAY, NOBODY Cares bout you! people just want MONEY!
2. READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY
3. FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS
4. EAT AND TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR OWN BODY!
5. SEND GRATITUDES TO WHOEVER HELP YOU SOLVED YOUR PROBLEMS.
Even though you complain about them/their company, if they did a good job and helped you in any ways, send your gratitudes # true story # confession bear. FYI I DID THIS!

So my eye are healing nicely, shouldn't play too much pc/ phones and cincai eat things, but susah la!
Still go here and there, AFTER ONE WEEK fyi, listen to what doctor says!
